Aloka, the Peace Dog beginning his walk on a misty morning.
Good dog.
From the streets of India to the streets of America, he walks for peace.
He trots to the monks stride.
Aloka means enlightened. The monks named him. Momma named me Peaches, The Pink Party Poodle for Peace. I'm watching from heaven. Heaven is all over, you just can't see it, but we're here loving you. Sometimes you feel it. sometimes you don't, but we are here all the time.
Dog is God spelled backward. Now, some smart human must have done that.
Aloka is walking from Texas to Washing DC. 2,300 miles. Sometimes he rides in the car, but he wants to walk. He walked 100 miles with the monks in India. Now he is on another walk.
He was hit by a car once, earlier in his life, so the monks make sure he gets rest for his body. He spirit is strong--reaches to the moon and beyond.
I love him.
Watch him. Follow in his footprints. Mine are there, can you see them? Bear's are there, Jewell, Licorice, Gabe--the dog that slept beside Momma's bed. I used him for a foot stool so I could hop up on the bed. He was big. I was little. Dogs come is all sizes, all with big hearts, especially when they have their packs, and are loved by a human.
Dogs like The Velveteen Rabbit in the book. The Velveteen Rabbit was made real by a little boy's love. Gabriel was real. He was our guardian angel. I can't keep up with him now with all his guarding. Jewell, Bear, and Licorice are love bunnies beaming love to you guys. Do you feel it?
Watch Aloka. Follow the monks, feel and beam peace, compassion and kindness--the reason they are walking.
A beacon shining in the darkness.
